Question reblogged from SuckerPunch with 5 notes

Anonymous asked: Do you think at the end of our journey to find love there's that one special person we're supposed to be with, or are there multiple people waiting at the end of the journey? Is life a maze with that one special person at the end of the road, only one exit we can take, or a maze with different exits, each one a different person waiting at the end, but depending on which roads we chose to travel & whether we chose to go right or left at a fork in the road led us to a different person?

sckrpnch:

This is a tough question, reason being, not everyone has the same ideals or goals in life. I like the idea of coming home to a house with kids and one mate/companion, for some people this paradigm doesn’t work. The journey itself will never really end, it will be a continuous stream of events life has in store. I enjoy monogamy, I have fell in love with multiple people and each time it’s been a beautiful experience, one I would never trade. When I am in a relationship, I only see my future with that person, if I didn’t I would not be able to truly commit to them. Life is basically all about choices, its not so much linear but more like an ocean, each person an island. Not every island will have everything you like, some may have everything but be further away from the goals you have set for yourself, or some may have both but never challenge you in a way you need to grow. It’s not a fork or a road, you’re on a boat and you’re your own captain. The beautiful thing about life is every choice you make is your own, every outcome an echo of your inner person.

i’m so in love with this. i can’t even. ah. my favourite feeling in the world is putting your head beneath the water and entering an entirely different place, so peaceful, so quiet. what i miss more than anything when i’m living away from the ocean is being able to duck under and leave all my worries on the surface.
